Description
Savannah sparrows forage on the ground for insects, spiders, and seeds. Low-growing plants such as these grasses intertwined with Vetch offer a place to search for food sources while providing a protective layer that allows them to move around undetected. I heard the sparrows long before I could spot them during a “golden hour” walk through this large field.
